    3. Evaluating the quality of a processing sequence and critically analyze the image to be interpreted and its uncertainties

  • 1.     Basics Seismic processing

    The seismic Theory :

    • wave propagation

    • reflection

    • refraction

    • diffraction velocities

    2.     Seismic recording spreads :

    ·         Sources

    ·        recording systems

    ·        common depth  point coverage.

    3.     Seismic Processing  Sequence.

    • Re formatting .

    • Geometry.

    • Amplitude Recovery.

    •     Statics.

    • Noise Attenuation.

    • De convolution.

    • Normal move out correction.

    • Residual Statics.

    • Multiple Attenuation.

    • Common depth point stack/Gathers.

    •    Post / Pre Stack Time Migration.

    • Post Stack  Processing ( Filtering /De convolution/Scaling).

    Participants are encouraged to bring data examples related to this course.

    • Geophysicists work with Processing, Acquisition, and interpretation that are actively involved in seismic processing and/or liaise with seismic processing contractors.

    • Geophysicists who are involved in special studies should have a thorough understanding of conventional processing.
